📌 Overview
The Upper Mustang Trek is a journey into one of Nepal’s most unique and restricted regions—Upper Mustang, often called the “Last Forbidden Kingdom.”
The region was once an independent kingdom with its capital at Lo Manthang, where Tibetan Buddhist culture is still deeply preserved.
The landscape is dramatically different from other Himalayan regions—dry, desert-like, and shaped by wind-eroded cliffs, deep canyons, and colorful rock formations.
A major highlight is exploring ancient monasteries, sky caves, and royal heritage sites, including the historic palace of the Mustang King.
The trek is located in a rain-shadow region, making it suitable for trekking even during monsoon months (best from March to November).
